2011 (Junior):
Started 46 games, including 45 at shortstop as a junior. Hit .237 with a pair of doubles, a triple and a home run. Drove in 10 on the season with 12 runs scored and stole five bases. Turned in six multi-hit games, including a three-for-three day against San Francisco, in which he walked and added a run scored and RBI. Went two-for-two off the bench with an RBI in the Tigers’ win at No. 14 Cal on April 5. Posted a three-for-three day with a walk and a run scored against No. 17 UC Irvine on April 17. Doubled and drove in a run in the Tigers’ win over Cal State Northridge on April 23. Went 2-for-4 with two RBI against Cal Poly on May 20, hitting his first career home run in the sixth inning of a 5-1 Pacific win.

2010 (Sophomore):
Josh started six games for Pacific during the 2010 season, playing in the outfield during the final eight games of the year. Simms finished 8-for-24 on the season, with a .333 batting average. Josh also tallied an impressive .385 on base percentage and a .375 slugging percentage, turning it on at the end of the year. He had three multi-hit games, with two hits against Cal Poly (May 22), and UC Santa Barbara (May 28, 29). Josh recorded one extra base hit in 2010, with a double against Cal Poly on May 21.

2009 (Freshman):
In his first year of collegiate baseball, Josh developed into a starter in the outfield by the middle of the season. He saw time as a starter in 28 of Pacific’s 53 games in 2009, finishing with a .973 fielding percentage and a .301 batting average. Simms’s hitting secured his as the best first year campaign for any of the freshmen in 2009, tallying four doubles and a triple for a .354 slugging percentage. Josh’s two best single-game performances came on May 24 against Cal State Bakersfield and April 18 at No. 6 Cal State Fullerton when he went 3-for-5 in each contest. Simms helped Pacific to a 14-10 come-from-behind victory over the Titan]s when he nearly hit for the cycle on the road, with a single, double and triple for three RBI on the evening. Against Cal State Bakersfield, Simms posted his fourth and final double of the 2009 season.

High School:
Simms graduated from Grossmont High School in La Mesa, Calif., in 2008. He was a two-sport athlete and earned three letters as a second baseman in baseball and two letters as the football team’s quarterback. All three years he played varsity baseball, Josh earned recognition as a member of the all-league team. Twice he was named to the All-East County team. In addition to receiving honors for his play on the field, Simms secured a spot on the all-academic team and on the honor roll.

Personal:
Joshua Simms was born in Las Vegas, Nev., and is the son of Larry Simms and Victoria Bucknall. He has three younger siblings, Jessica, Ethan and Spencer.  Majoring in Communication.
