Peña Leads Tigers At Nick Watney Invitational

FRESNO, Calif. - Daniel Peña is among the leaders as the Pacific men's golf team sits seventh at the Nick Watney Invitational after the first two rounds on Monday in Fresno, Calif.

Peña is fourth on the leaderboard, one stroke back of second at -1. He followed up his 71 par round with a one-under 70 in the second round.

Pacific is +23 as a team, with a 295 in round one and a 296 in round two. The team leaderboard features a four-way tie for first as Utah, BYU, Loyola Marymount and Saint Mary's are all +8.

A trio of Tigers are tied for 44th at +8 (150) as Casey Scott posted a first-round 74 and a second-round 76, Jee Horsangchai turned in a 74 in the second round after an opening round 76, and Austin Fox followed his first-round 74 with a second-round 76.

Anthony Madrid is tied for 70th at +13, with a second round 77 after his first round 78.

Pacific was second best among teams on Par 3 holes, at even, and third-best on Par 5 holes at -7. The Tigers posted 24 birdies and an eagle from Peña.

Competing as an individual, Beau Forest is tied for 20th after he posted a one-under 70 in the first round, and 76 in the second to sit at +4.

The third round gets underway Tuesday at Sunnyside Golf Course in Fresno.
