STOCKTON, Calif. - 10 women's water polo players earned Golden Coast Conference All-Academic and ACWPC honors on Friday morning, the conference announced.
Brinnley Barthels, Mariana Duarte, Aelish Guinn, Alexis Hollinrake, Rachel Krieger, Hannah Rapp, Viktoria Szmodics, Viktoria Tamas, Kennedy Watson, and Cameron Williams each were placed on the GCC Academic team making it two consecutive years where 10 or more women's water polo players made it on the list.
Qualifications for this award include having a 3.0 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale), playing in at least 50-percent of the team's contests, and being classified as a full-time student at their instutition.
Since joining the GCC in in 2014, the Orange and Black have had 52 members honored with All-Academic selections. The Tigers ended the year with a cumulative GPA of 3.19.
In addition, Pacific all 10 players qualified for this year's Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-Academic Team. Requirements for this included an individual GPA of 3.2 or above.
Pacific finished the season with an overall record of 18-8, a 7-0 sweep of conference play, and it's highest ranking in program history at No. 6. Clinching back-to-back GCC titles and a No. 5 seed in the NCAA Championships, the Tigers advanced to the Quarterfinal round before falling to No. 4 UCLA.
