KAJUKU, Hawaii - A trio of Tigers paced the Pacific cross country team across the finish line on Saturday as the Orange and Black took first place at the Big Wave Invitational in Kahuku, Hawaii.

"Obviously we ran really strong today," said head coach Josh Jones. "We stuck to the race plan and it was a big day for the program to get our first invitational win and individual win. We still have a lot of work to do, and we plan to continue working hard this season."

Jasmine Gonzales took first overall in the 5k race with a time of 19:32.00, which is a personal best for the sophomore. Shortly following in second place with a time of 19:34.00 was Emma Winkler, and in third place overall was freshman Saira Purhar with a mark of 19:36.00.

"It was an unbelievable experience and a very memorable race," said Gonzales. "We ran smart as a pack and raced hard until the end."

In sixth place came Emily Wylie, who traversed the Kahuku Golf Course in 20:02.00. Katelyn Breitschwerdt (20:37.00) and Madison Cote (20:40.00) crossed the finish line next with Haley Silva following shortly after in 21:14.00.
