Purhar Set for Canadian Track and Field Championships

OTTOWA, Can. - Pacific Tigers Cross Country runner Saira Purhar represents the Orange and Black this weekend at the National Canadian Track and Field Championships. 

Wrapping up a stellar freshman campaign last season, Purhar adds to her resume this Saturday as she competes in the U20 5000m. 

Setting career marks her freshman year, Purhar finished among the top of the Tigers' freshman runners this past season with a 19:36.0 5K mark.

The Coquitlam, B.C. native will be running with a pack of 587 professional athletes in the U20 group including 22 senior Olympian athletes.

This weekend's events will also act as the qualifier for the NACAC Track and Field in the 6ix Championships held in Toronto later this summer. 

The 5,000m event will be held this Sunday, July 8th, at 10:00 AM. Live streaming for this event can be found here.
