Tigers Set to Compete at WCC Preview

STOCKTON, Calif. – The University of the Pacific women's cross country team heads to Provo, Utah for the Brigham Young University Autumn Classic/West Coast Conference Preview.

Last time out…
The last time the Tigers participated in the WCC Preview was in 2016 at the University of San Diego and finished fifth overall. Jasmine Gonzalez and Emily Wylie crossed the finish line in tandem with a time of 23:46, as freshman, to place 25th and 26th. Fellow freshman Emma Winkler traversed the course with a time of 24:45.

Weekly Awards…
Jasmine Gonzalez brought home the first ever Runner of the Week accolade in program history and the first of her career. Gonzalez helped lead Pacific to a second-place finish at the Big Wave Invitational on September 1. She traversed the course with a time of 19:03.00, which was 33 seconds faster than the previous year, to cross the finish line first.

BYU Autumn Classic/WCC Preview…
The course is separated into a 5K (women) and 7K (men) race. The women will run first starting tentatively at 9:40 a.m. Four teams from the West Coast Conference are competing: BYU, the University of San Diego, Pacific, and Santa Clara.
